Alternative Enterprises

Unique crops, production practices, innovative systems, new technologies, or selling products or services can help growers diversify their farming operations. Diversification may include growing more than one crop, adding value to existing crops, having more than one enterprise, or diversifying market channels. Diversification protects growers against downside production risk, cash flow problems, and helps them better manage land, labor, and capital.
